當初在訂飯店時，一直在猶豫要訂這間飯店或是喜達屋集團的 Hotel Pulitzer。但最後因為這間飯店提供免費的 mini bar 還有網路，再加上地點也比較好，所以就選擇了這間飯店。而且透過 Rocketmiles 訂房，入住兩晚總共可以額外多得四千哩的哩程。
When I was deciding which hotel to book for my stay in Amsterdam, I was choosing between this hotel and the Hotel Pulitzer. Finally I chose this hotel because it had a better location, and offered free mini bar and internet. I booked through Rocketmiles, which earned me an extra 4000 miles for a two-night stay.

Grand Hotel Amrath Amsterdam 是由舊的船運公司大樓改建，外觀上就非常有歷史的感覺。從大廳裝潢也可以看出一種舊時代的繁華感。
當天我到得有點早，房間還沒辦法入住，不過飯店還是讓我先寄放行李，也熱情地提供一份地圖，告訴我附近哪裡值得逛逛打發時間。
Grand Hotel Amrath Amsterdam used to be the old Shippinghouse, so its exterior felt very "historic." Once you enter the lobby, the sense of glamour from the old days was also quite present.
I arrived quite early that day so the room wasn't ready. But the hotel still let me store my luggage, and was kind enough to offer me a map and recommended a few place to visit.

大約在下午兩點回到飯店的時候，房間已經準備好，工作人員也立刻將房卡交給我。沒想到真正的挑戰這時候才開始。飯店內部錯綜複雜跟迷宮一樣，我一度還在裡面迷了路！花了大概十幾分鐘才好不容易找到房間...
I returned at around 2pm. My room was already ready and the staff quickly handed me my key card. Little did I know this was when the real challenge began. This hotel was a complete maze and it was almost impossible to navigate without help. It took me more than ten minutes before I finally located my room.

不過一打開房門，就覺得這些辛苦也都很值得了。房間非常明亮寬敞，還可以直接俯視旁邊的運河。而且顯然飯店有重新裝潢過房間，所以設備都相當新穎。唯一的缺點就是雖然號稱是一張大床，不過其實是兩張小床併在一起的（連床單都是分開的），所以沒有那麼好睡。
Yet once I opened my door, every effort was well worth it. The room was well-lit and offered plenty of space. It also had a direct view of the canal. Obviously some renovations were made, so everything felt quite new. The only thing I can complain was what was supposed to be a king size bed turned out to be two single beds put together (even the beddings were separate), so it was less comfortable than I expected.

而這間飯店最大的優點，就是免費提供的咖啡、茶，還有飲料了。基本上看得到的飲料都是免費的！每天整理房間時，房務人員也還會再重新補充一份。
And here comes the best part of the hotel! It offers complimentary coffee, tea, and drinks. Basically all the drinks in the room were free. The housekeeping staff would also refresh the stock every day.

而浴室也是絲毫不遜色於其他較新的飯店。不只有乾濕分離的獨立淋浴間跟浴缸，還有兩個洗手台，空間非常寬敞。
The bathroom was also on par with other new hotels. Not only did it have separate shower and bath, there were also double sinks. The bathroom was also quite spacious as well.

至於服務，唯一的缺點就是房務人員可能需要更多的訓練。在我入住的期間，就發生好幾次房務人員在沒有敲門或表明身份（"housekeeping~"）的狀況下，就直接拿房卡開門的狀況。除了這一點之外，這間飯店在各方面的表現其實都相當好，非常值得入住。
As for the service, the only thing I can complain about was that housekeeping staffs may need a bit more training. I experienced several incidents which they tried to use their key card to access my room without knocking or identifying themselves ("housekeeping~"). Aside from this hiccup, the hotel performed very well in all aspects, and I would surely return again.
