華航在2013年啟用的新頭等貴賓室「梅苑」，一開始只開放頭等艙及晶鑽卡旅客使用，不過在2014年初之後，也開放翡翠卡旅客使用。這次剛好因為華航在第一航廈的貴賓室因為整修封閉，所以趁著這個機會前往探訪傳說中的梅苑。
China Airlines opened the new first class lounge "Supreme Lounge" back in 2013, and it was initially only open to first class passengers and Paragon Card holders. But they loosed the restrictions to include Emerald members in early 2014. So I took the chance to visit the lounge while the lounge in terminal 1 was closed for renovation.

華航的天合優享報到櫃台在第一航廈的第九櫃台，剛好就在通往安檢的手扶梯前。報到完後可以直接上樓，位置非常方便。
China Airlines Sky Priority check-in counters are located at counter 9 in terminal 1, which is right in front of the escalators to security, making it a super convenient process throughout.

進入管制區後，順著標示走大約15分鐘就可以來到第二航廈。梅苑就位在長榮的貴賓室旁邊，中國風的入口相當顯眼。
After I was airside, I followed the signs and walked to terminal 2, which took about 15 minutes. The Supreme Lounge is right next to the EVA Air Lounge, and its Chinese-style entrance is quite easy to locate.

一進門之後，就有服務人員熱情迎接。聽到我是第一次造訪之後，還特地帶我導覽了整間貴賓室。也剛好貴賓室裡面完全沒有人，所以可以讓我拍照拍個過癮。
After I entered, I was warmly welcomed by one of the staffs. She even offered to give me a tour of the lounge when she learned that it was my first time visiting this lounge. Luckily, there were no one else in the lounge so I was allowed to take as many photos as I wanted.

不得不說梅苑應該是全桃園機場最美的貴賓室，貴賓室整體走典雅中國宮廷風，牆邊的古董擺設更增添了不少貴氣。
I must say the Supreme Lounge is perhaps the most beautiful lounge in Taoyuan Airport. It had the style of an elegant Chinese palace, and all the antiques in the lounge also added even more sense of luxury.

進入貴賓室後，右手邊就是商務中心，總共有兩台桌上型及兩台筆記型電腦。
The business center was immediately to the right after entering the lounge, with two desktop and two laptop computers available.

再往裡面走一些，則是休息室及廁所和淋浴間。休息室內擺放的是按摩椅。
Sleeping rooms, shower rooms, and toilets are located further inside. The sleeping rooms had massage chairs available.

淋浴間其實空間不算大，不過也是應有盡有。不只有免治馬桶，備品更是使用 Ferragamo 的產品，和新航樟宜機場頭等艙貴賓室一樣。
The shower rooms weren't exactly spacious, but had everything one might need. It was equipped with bidet-style toilets, and the amenities are Ferragamo-branded, just like Singapore Airlines' first class lounge in Changi Airport.

梅苑的中國風設計也延伸到了廁所的標示上，所有的人物都做了中國風的裝扮，是很有趣的小巧思。
The Chinese theme of the lounge also extended to the bathroom signs, Chinese clothing were added to all the icons, which I found quite interesting.

座位區除了自助餐區旁邊有一個比較開放的區域外，其他都是設計成包廂。分成單人包廂、雙人包廂，還有團體包廂，可以充分保護旅客的隱私。也因為這樣的設計，即便後來貴賓室內有多了幾組客人，還是會覺得跟沒有其他人一樣。
As for the seating, there's an open seating area next to the buffet, while the rest of the lounge had individual booths. There were booths for single travelers, couples, and also larger groups. This design really maximized privacy for all the guests. Even though more guests came during my visit, I always felt I had the lounge to myself.

等我坐定之後，服務人員也隨即送上菜單。梅苑的自助餐選項以點心為主，所以多數的熱食都還是從菜單現點現做的。
After I took a seat, one of the staffs delivered a menu. The Supreme Lounge had a very small buffet with only light snacks, so all the hot options had to be ordered through the menu.

當天的香檳是選用 Pol Roger 2004 年份香檳，市價一瓶大約在三～四千元左右。
The champagne available was Pol Roger 2004, which had a retail price around 3-4000 NTD (100-130 USD).

所有的餐點都做成小份的，可以多點幾樣品嚐看看。一開始我先點了牛小排跟牛肉麵，味道都非常好吃。
All the food were delivered in small portions, so I ordered quite a few to sample them. I started with short ribs and beef noodle soup, and both were delicious.

至於自助餐的食物，則多以台灣著名品牌的小點心為主，像是鳳梨酥、乳酪蛋糕、桂圓核桃糕、水果等等。
As for the buffet, it mostly consisted of small snacks from famous Taiwanese brands, such as Pineapple Cake, Cheesecake, Logan and Walnut Cake, and fruit.

而我加點的雞排也是這次在梅苑的最大亮點，不管是煎的熟度或是調味都非常完美，害我一口氣又再加點了兩份。要不是因為時間關係，再多吃十份也沒問題！
I ordered some more food afterwards, and the pan-fried chicken became the best part of my visit. It was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I couldn't help but order two more after finishing the first one. If I had more time, I could easily have ten more. It was that delicious.

在造訪梅苑之後，覺得目前桃園機場最佳貴賓室絕對是梅苑了。雖然比起新航、泰航的頭等貴賓室，可能還是有些落差，但比起華航過去的貴賓室，已經是一大躍進了！
The Supreme Lounge is without doubt the best lounge in Taoyuan Airport at the moment. Even though it still couldn't compete with Singapore or Thai's first class lounges, it was already a huge improvement from China Airlines' old lounge.

從華航在2014年十月首航777-300ER之後，我就一直很想體驗看看由誠品書店設計師陳瑞憲操刀設計的豪華商務艙。為了提早登機拍照，我大約在登機前五分鐘就來到了登機門，不過這時候優先登機的隊伍已經有兩三個人了，看來大家都很想早點登機一睹新機風采。
Ever since China Airline's started flying their 777-300ERs in October 2014, I've always wanted to review the famous Premium Business Class, designed by famous Taiwanese designer Ray Chen, who designed many Eslite Bookstores in Taiwan. I made it to the gate about five minutes before boarding time, but there was already a few people in front of me. Looks like everyone was quite eager to check out the new plane.

一進入機艙，第一印象真的是覺得非常美。大量的木紋設計，還有獨特的桌燈，都更散發出沉穩、靜謐的氛圍。

比起長榮的皇璽桂冠艙或是國泰的長程商務艙，華航的座位感覺稍微狹小一些。這可能是因為螢幕設計的關係。長榮跟國泰使用彈出式設計，但華航是固定式的，優點就是起降時依然可以使用。
Compared to EVA Air's Royal Laurel Class or Cathay Pacific's long-haul business class, the seats in China Airlines' Premium Business Class felt a bit smaller. This could be due to the design of the IFE screen, as EVA Air and Cathay Pacific uses the pop-out design while the ones China Airlines uses are fixed. It's a good thing though, since this means they were available for use during take off and landing.

比起長榮跟國泰，華航的豪華商務艙少了置物櫃，改在桌面下方增加儲物格，空間仍然相當夠用。較深的那格除了放耳機之外，也可以放一些比較大的物品（像是相機）。較小的那格則可以放像是護照、手機、眼鏡之類的小東西。
Also, compared to EVA Air and Cathay Pacific, China Airlines removed the storage cabinets next to the seat. Though they added some storage space under the counters so there was still enough room. The larger one could be used for larger items like headphones and cameras, while the small one was for smaller items like passports, smartphones, and glasses.

餐桌位於座位前方，可以直接拉出來使用。設計上也是延續著整個機艙的木紋風格。
The dining table was located in the front, and could be directly pulled out for use. It was also decorated by wood panels.

起飛之後，我就瀏覽了一下777-300ER的新機上娛樂系統。HD畫質配上18吋螢幕真的非常享受，再加上觸控介面非常順暢，是近期體驗過的機上娛樂系統中最好的之一。
After we were airborne, I browsed through the new IFE system. The experience was a very pleasant one with HD quality and the 18-inch screen. The touch screen interface was very smooth as well. It was one of the best IFE systems I've tried recently.

控制器一樣是使用觸控介面，但因為螢幕可以直接觸控，需要使用的機會不大。在觀賞影片時，控制器也可以顯示飛航資訊。
The IFE control also had a touch screen. But since the screen is already a huge touch screen, I never had to use the control. Though it could also be used to display flight information when watching a show, which was quite handy.

不久之後就開始午餐服務，按照台港線慣例，一樣是一個托盤完成。水果跟甜點都非常好吃，但是主菜表現不佳，不管調味跟烹調上都很有問題，擺盤呈現上也不太吸引人。這也許在之後長程線開始使用新餐具之後，會改善一些。
Lunch service started right after, and it was a 1-tray service per Taipei-Hong Kong tradition. The fruit and dessert were both delicious but the main course was awful. It was poorly cooked, seasoned, and presented. Though presentation could improve after the introduction of new tableware in long-haul flights.

既然豪華商務艙號稱全平躺，吃飽之後我也有試著平躺下來看看，不過感覺似乎沒有完全平躺，大約是17X度的感覺，還有點斜斜的就是了。因為班機全滿所以也無法試其他位子，不太確定是我的座位有點故障，還是全機都是這樣子。
Since they advertise the seats as fully flat, I tried to lie down after the meal. But my seat did not go fully flat, and still felt slightly angled with perhaps a 17X-degree recline. Since the flight was completely full, I couldn't try out another seat. So I wasn't sure if it was just my seat or a general problem.

至於華航777-300ER的另一主打「水郵山驛」，在短程線並沒有開放使用。只能期待之後長程線還有機會搭到由777-300ER執飛的航班了。
As for the famous "Flying Oasis" lounge, it was not open on short-haul flights, giving me another reason to take the 777-300ER for a long-haul flight.
