前身是來來飯店的台北喜來登，一直是台北相當著名的飯店之一。在2002年開始重新裝修之後，據說在軟硬體方面都提升不少。過去都只有到十二廚吃飯的經驗，這次是第一次入住。

The Sheraton Grande Taipei, known as Lai Lai Hotel in the past, has always maintained a prestige in the Taiwanese hospitality industry. And after it was renovated in 2002, it really stepped up its game both in terms of hard and soft product. In the past, I only visited the hotel to eat at the Kitchen 12 buffet, so this was my first time actually staying here.

大廳看得出來當天住房率應該不錯，另外台北喜來登似乎也是新航機組員的下榻飯店，因為剛好看到一組正要準備出發上工的機組員，正在飯店集合。

As you can probably tell from the crowd in the lobby, the hotel was pretty full that day. The Sheraton Grande was also where the Singapore Airlines crew stayed at during their layover, as I saw them getting ready in the lobby to head to the airport for their flight.

大廳裡也有每間喜來登必備的「Link@Sheraton」商務中心，開放房客使用。

There was also a standard "Link@Sheraton" business center available in the lobby.

台北喜來登也一樣設有喜達屋金卡及白金卡會員的專屬櫃台，所以相當迅速地就完成了入住手續。可惜當天套房客滿，所以只有被升等到了行政首席客房。

The hotel also had a dedicated counter for SPG gold and platinum members, so check-in was completed quite swiftly. Sadly all the suites were taken that day, so I only received an upgrade to an Executive Premier Room.

飯店走廊佈置得相當典雅，也帶有一些東方色彩的巧思。我特別喜歡地毯的花紋，簡單卻又相當有設計感。

The hallways are really elegantly decorated, with some beautiful oriental touches. I specifically liked the carpet design, which was simple yet well-designed.

行政首席客房約12坪，面積不算特別大，但還綽綽有餘。

The Executive Premier Room had a size of 40sqm, which wasn't huge, but large enough to walk around in it.

You'd find the mini bar and closet right after entering the room.

我很喜歡台北喜來登的拖鞋，既厚實又舒服好穿。

I enjoyed wearing the slippers they provided, which were thick and comfortable.

Mini Bar 當然有五星級飯店少不了的膠囊咖啡機。

Of course, the mini bar had a capsule coffee machine, which has become a standard equipment for five star hotels nowadays.

當然其他飲料、零食、酒類也是應有盡有，只是價錢讓人不敢恭維而已。

There were plenty of other drinks, snacks, and booze available in the mini bar, but the price tag would kept most people away from it.

行政樓層有升級提供 Heyland & Whittle 系列備品。雖然之前沒有用過，但第一次使用的經驗覺得還不錯。

They upgraded the toiletries in the executive floor, providing Heyland & Whittle products. It was my first time using this brand but I quite liked them.

馬桶當然也是 TOTO 免治馬桶。

As always, the room had TOTO Japanese bidet-style toilets.

淋浴間的空間非常大，要同時塞進兩個人可能都不是問題。

The shower room was surprisingly large, and could probably fit two people in it without a problem.

至於臥室，老實說還欠缺一些裝潢佈置。除了沙發相當有特色之外，其餘的傢俱擺設都很普通，牆上也少了一些藝術品佈置或是設計巧思，是比較可惜的地方。

As for the bedroom, I found it to be slightly under-decorated to be honest. The sofa was the highlight of the room, but the rest of the furniture were all quite bland, and the walls lack any artwork or design.

書桌倒是配備齊全，辦公椅也很舒服好坐。

咖啡桌上已經擺好迎賓水果跟瓶裝水，水果在份量跟種類上都略輸新竹喜來登一籌。

The welcome fruit plate and bottled water were already placed on the coffee table, though the Sheraton Hsinchu had a much better fruit plate both in terms of quantity and variety.

台北喜來登的貴賓廳空間非常大，大約佔據了半層樓的空間，即便是尖峰時段都可以輕鬆找到座位。

The club lounge was enormous, taking about half the space of an entire floor, so finding a seat was never a problem even during rush hours.

散落在貴賓廳各處的書報架，提供各種雜誌跟報紙。只是要找到自己想要的雜誌，可能得要在貴賓廳到處走走逛逛才能找得到。

They had newspaper and magazine racks spread all over the lounge, each with different reading materials. It's certainly a nice feature though it might take some time walking around the lounge to find the magazine you're looking for.

因為距離政府機關非常近，從貴賓廳就可以直接看到行政院跟警政署，但也不是什麼特別好的景觀就是了。

Since the hotel is right next to the government offices, the lounge looked directly into the Executive Yuan and the national police agency, though both of them don't exactly count as nice views.

在這裡得要好好稱讚一下行政貴賓廳的服務人員，他們隨時都會有人在自助餐區提供服務。所以很少需要自己泡茶，只要跟他們說自己想要哪種茶，他們就會泡好送上了。這麼主動的服務真的是大大加分。

And service in the lounge was superb. There were always staffs stationed at the buffet area and proactively offering assistance. So I never had to make my own tea, I simply tell them which kind of tea I wanted and they'd deliver it to my seat shortly. The service was what really made the lounge unique.

到了晚間的「歡樂時光」時段，看得出來台北喜來登是毫不保留地在準備自助餐上面的。各種熱食都很多，要當作一餐絕對沒有問題。

And the Sheraton Grande Taipei really went all the way during the evening happy hour service. They had plenty of hot dishes available and you could easily make a meal out of it.

在酒類上面，其實比較可惜一些。不管是紅白酒或是氣泡酒，都沒有很好喝。

Sadly the alcohol selection weren't as nice as the rest of the buffet. The red, white, and sparkling wines were all less than satisfactory.

而早餐時段的自助餐也很豐富，不管是中、西式的選擇都不少。雖然在十二廚餐廳也許選擇會更多，不過十二廚在人多的時候實在太擠太亂，這時候能在行政貴賓廳悠閒吃早餐，真的是一大享受。

Breakfast buffet in the lounge was also very nice, with plenty of both Chinese and Western options. Even though there may be a much wider selection in the Kitchen 12 restaurant, it was way too crowded and chaotic. So being able to enjoy breakfast in the serenity of the club lounge was truly a blessing.
