在抵達飯店之前，京都威斯汀的服務就已經開始讓我印象深刻。飯店不只有提供來回JR京都站的免費接駁車，還在京都站設有 Satellite Concierge 讓客人寄放行李，一件行李只要三百元，就會幫你免費送到飯店（回程也可以從飯店送到車站）。對於一到車站就希望可以先在京都逛逛，晚上再去飯店的旅客真的非常方便，不用先去飯店辦入住，也不用拖著行李在市區到處跑。
The excellent service of the Westin Miyako Kyoto started even before I arrived at the hotel. The hotel offers complimentary shuttle bus service from Kyoto Station, and also has a "Satellite Concierge" at Kyoto Station that offers bag drop service. For only 300 Yen each, they'd ship your bags to the hotel (or from the hotel to the station) for you. This is really helpful as I get to explore the city without having to check-in at the hotel first or drag my luggage around the city.

到達飯店之後，也可以感受到京都威斯汀的規模相當大。京都威斯汀總共有499間客房，算是京都數一數二大的飯店。大廳自然是相當氣派，在耶誕節期間也妝點得很有氣氛。飯店櫃台則低調地隱身於大廳一角，而且等待的客人不多，即便沒有優先櫃台，也只等了大約五分鐘而已。
After arriving at the hotel, you can immediately feel the size of the Westin Miyako Kyoto. With 499 rooms and suites, it's one of the largest hotels in Kyoto. Naturally, the lobby was "grand" and well-decorated during Christmas. Check-in counters are hidden at the corner of the lobby, and only had a very short line. Even without a priority counter, I only had to wait about five minutes before I was helped.

辦理入住時被告知升等到了邊間的景觀客房，空間比其他同級的房間還要再大一些。
I was informed that I've been upgraded to a corner room, which was slightly larger than other guest rooms.

很可惜地，雖然客房空間較大，但感覺並沒有被善加利用，有不少多餘的閒置空間，在規劃上如過多用點心思，應該可以讓客房的層次再往上提升。像是浴室前有一個空間，原來應該是規劃連同衣櫃一起作為一個半開放的更衣間使用，不過並沒有配置該有的傢俱（像是座椅或化妝鏡等等），反而變成除了堆行李之外沒什麼其他用處。
Sadly, it felt like all the extra space weren't really well-utilized, with many empty spaces here and there. They certainly could've done more with the room if they put a little more thought into the layout. For example, there's this space in front of the bathroom, which I assume was meant for a semi-dressing room of sorts since it is right next to the closet. However, there weren't any furniture there (e.g. chairs or a mirror), so it became nothing more than a place to leave my bags.

相較之下，浴室的空間狹小程度也更讓人覺得可惜。

連淋浴的蓮蓬頭都有兩個！！但還真是讓人同時覺得驚喜又困惑啊...
They even had two shower heads!! Though to be honest I was pleasantly surprised and confused at the same time...

同樣地，臥室空間十分寬廣，但沒有相對應的傢具擺設，就會顯得有些過於空曠。當然這些都只是錦上添花的小細節而已，在日本其實房間夠大就已經十分讓人滿足了。
Similarly, the bedroom was also spacious yet lacking in terms of furniture, which made it slightly empty and under-decorated. Yet I must stress that these are only small details for improvement, it's certainly a blessing to have a room this large in Japan, and I'm already quite satisfied with the room.

在日本的飯店客房裡，能夠有三人的沙發組，也真的是一件很幸福的事啊！
It's certainly rare to have a sofa for three in a Japanese hotel room!

因為回到飯店時已經是開床時間後，所以床上已經擺好了兩組睡衣。比較特別的是京都威斯汀提供的是睡衣+浴衣的雙重組合，可以讓房客自由選擇使用。另外床頭也有許多插座，很適合拿來充手機用。
Since I checked in after turn-down service, two sets of pajamas were already placed on the bed. What's unique here at the Westin Miyako Kyoto is that they also provide Japanese Yukatas so guests can choose from the two styles. There are also plenty of power outlets near the bed, which is good for charging cellphones.

另外，房間外也有一個小陽台，白天還可以欣賞京都市區的風景，也看得到平安神宮的鳥居。
There's a small balcony outside, with a nice view of Kyoto during the day, including the Heian Jingu.

京都威斯汀的價格隨著季節變動較大，但便宜的時候不到一萬五千日幣就能夠入住，以這樣的服務來說，我認為是非常超值的。特別是免費的網路、接駁車，還有在京都站的 Satellite Concierge，對於自助旅行者真的非常方便！比較可惜的是這次入住沒有機會享用飯店早餐，只好留待下次再來體驗了。
The Westin Miyako Kyoto had a rather large price range according to the season, and it could get as low as less than 15,000 Yen, which I consider to be a steal with all the amenities they offer. I especially appreciate the complimentary internet, shuttle bus, and the Satellite Concierge, which are all perfect for a solo backpacker. Unfortunately I did not have a chance to check out the breakfast during my stay. I guess this gives me a reason to return next time :)
