源宿（Element）飯店是喜達屋系列中特別強調環保和「綠色」生活的飯店，所以飯店在許多細節中都會特別注意環保，設計也採用比較貼近大自然的風格和色調，讓人非常放鬆。不過，最吸引人的地方，是飯店免費提供所有房客早餐、網路，大廳也隨時都有咖啡讓人免費享用，在紐約的飯店中算是相當難得。
Element hotels is the brand in the Starwood chain that specifically stresses being eco-friendly and a "green" way of life. So the hotel really puts an effort to become evironmentally friendly in many details of its day-to-day operations, and also adopts a more "natural" and soothing style in its design. But what makes this hotel most appealing is that it offers free breakfast and internet to all guests. Coffee are also always available in the lobby, which is very generous compared to other hotels in New York.

因為長榮的班機時間比較晚，所以我大概在晚上十一點左右才抵達飯店。這時大廳當然已經沒有什麼人了。可能也是因為比較晚入住的關係，櫃檯人員將我的房型升等成套房。另外也有主動詢問隔天是否需要延遲退房。雖然這是對於金卡會員的標準待遇，不過不需要房客主動要求，代表這間飯店對於 SPG 會員的待遇算是相當細心。
Since my EVA Air flight arrived quite late at night, I only got to the hotel at around 11 pm. Naturally the lobby was deserted by this time, and check-in was processed quickly. Perhaps due to this reason, I was also upgraded to a suite at check-in. The staff also proactively offered my late check-out for the next day. Although this was a published benefit of a gold member, not having to ask for it meant they really try to take care of their SPG members.

在入住之前曾經聽過有人抱怨飯店房間太小，當然對於套房而言是沒有這個問題的。確實以套房而言，房間的面積是不大，但並不會特別讓人覺得不舒服。一進門之後就可以看到衣櫃、浴室，還有一間完整的廚房，這在一般飯店內也是相當少見的。
I've heard people complaining about the size of the room in this hotel being too small. Obviously that wasn't an issue with suites. As a suite, the room was relatively small but not uncomfortably so. Upon entering the room, you'd see a large closet, bathroom, and a full kitchen, which was rare in hotels.

客廳大概是整間套房唯一讓人覺得比較擁擠的地方，沙發本身就已經不大，再加上空間狹小的關係，很難讓人特別放鬆休息。我這次也只有把沙發當作行李架而已，平常則使用書桌為主。
The living room was probably the only place that felt crammed. Since the sofa itself was already small, and the room was quite small as well, I found it hard to kick back and relax here. I only used the sofa as a luggage rack during my stay, and chose to sit at the desk instead.

浴室特別讓人欣賞的部分在於它的淋浴設備。不只蓮蓬頭夠大，水壓很足夠。因為環保的關係，飯店並沒有提供小罐的洗髮精和沐浴乳，其他備品也比較精簡一些。浴室唯一的缺點，大概是沒有和臥室相連吧，是個有點讓人不解的配置。
What I loved most about the bathroom was its shower. The shower head was gigantic, and the water pressure was great as well. As part of the hotel's effort to be eco-friendly, the did not offer shampoo and shower gel in small bottles, and had a more "simplified" amenity offering. The only criticism I had with the bathroom was the fact that it's not connected to the bedroom, which was a very puzzling layout if you ask me.

源宿飯店號稱在臥室配備的是威斯汀（Westin）著名的天夢之床（Heavenly Bed），不過這次比較的結果，感覺還是跟威斯汀自家的產品有點差距。
Element hotel claims to use the famous Westin Heavenly Bed in its bedrooms, but after my comparison in this trip, it still felt slightly inferior to what Westin uses in its own hotels.

隔天早上的早餐種類選擇不少，除了一般的麵包和麥片等等之外，也出乎意料地有一些熱食，可惜口味並沒有非常好就是了。
The breakfast next morning had quite a large selection. Aside from the usual bread and cereal, there were, surprisingly, some hot options available. Sadly the taste was not as good as the variety.

這間飯店平常的價位波動很大，便宜的時候大約一百多美金就可以入住，這時候我覺得是非常超值的。如果超過兩百美金的話，紐約有其他更好的選擇。
This hotel had quite a large price range that could go as low as a little more than 100 dollars. At this rate I found it to be a bargain; but if the rate is over $200, there are better options in New York City.
