Holiday Inn Express Taoyuan standard room

2013 年底為了達成洲際集團的 The Big Win 促銷活動，所以選擇下訂桃園的智選假日飯店。這次只是單純湊入住次數，所以並沒有實際過夜。這篇只能簡單敘述一下房間硬體，還有辦理入住跟退房的經驗。

這間飯店其實地理位置並不好，如果從台北出發，唯一可以直達的大眾運輸只有客運，如果從桃園高鐵站或是桃園機場出發，那都必須要搭乘計程車。也因此通常都是團體客居多，據說早餐時段會非常擁擠（飯店有提供免費早餐）。但只要算準時間避開團體客，通常都不需要排隊等待。像是當天我抵達的時候，大廳是一位客人都沒有的，所以入住手續非常迅速。這間飯店只有標準客房一種房型（有分單床跟雙床），所以沒有辦法再給白金卡會員升等。但是依照慣例，還是有提供飲料券。

I booked a one-night stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Taoyuan to complete IHG's the Big Win promotion in 2013. Since this was just a simple mattress run, I didn't actually spend the night. So I will only share some thoughts on the room itself, and my experiences checking in & out of the hotel.

It's important to know that the location of this hotel isn't quite ideal. If you're coming from Taipei, the only direct public transportation is taking the bus. If you take the HSR, or are coming from the airport, you'll have to get to the hotel via taxi. I assume this is why they mostly accommodate tourist groups in this hotel, and that makes the restaurant very crowded during peak hours (the hotel does provide free breakfast for all guests). But if you can manage to avoid the tourist groups, you can manage to breeze through everything. There were no other guests present when I got to the hotel that day, so check-in was completed in no time. Since they only have standard rooms in this hotel (king bed and double beds), no upgrades could be given to platinum members. But, as usual, they still provided me a couple of drink coupons.

雖然說所有客房都是標準客房，但是在空間配置上會有一些差異。據說邊間（也就是我這次入住的房間）會稍微寬敞一些。在這種客房的配置中，浴室會在一進房之後的左手邊。浴室配備相當簡單，並沒有什麼特別之處，不過維持得很不錯，也很乾淨。備品使用 LUX 的洗髮／沐浴精。

Even though all rooms are "Standard rooms" in this hotel, they are still slightly different in terms of layout and space. I was told that the corner rooms (which is the one I booked) are slightly larger than the others. In this specific layout, the bathroom is directly at the left hand side once you enter. It was a very basic bathroom with nothing to write home about, but was well-maintained and clean. The amenity is one single shampoo/shower gel combo by LUX.

臥室內的配備也相當基本，除了有沙發讓我有點驚訝之外，其他的設備就很普通。重點是乾淨且應有盡有，而且有大片窗戶所以採光很好，以智選假日飯店的標準而言，其實非常不錯。

The bedroom was also very standard. I was pleasantly surprised that they had a large sofa in the room, but the rest were rather standard Holiday Inn furniture. Yet, most importantly, it was clean, had everything one needs, and had a lot of natural light coming through its large windows. So it was a very good room in terms of Holiday Inn Express standards.

至於公共空間，一樓除了大廳和餐廳之外，在角落還有一個小小的商務中心，提供兩台筆記型電腦和印表機給房客使用。在我辦理入住跟退房的時間內，並沒有看到有任何人使用。

As for the public spaces, aside from the lobby and restaurant, there's also a small business center in the corner of the first floor, with two laptops and a printer. I did not see anyone using it when I was checking in/out of the hotel.
