台北晶華酒店(Regent Taipei)精緻套房 Junior Suite

在2012年台北國際旅展的時候,晶華酒店線上推出精緻客房住宿券,一晚只要 $4,399,等於是差不多三折的價錢而已。而且只要另外再加 $330 即可升等豪華客房(早餐則是另加 $990)。聽到這個消息,當然是立刻就在官網下訂了啊!

大概在十一月左右收到住宿券之後,就按照上面的號碼打給訂房組訂房。負責訂房的服務人員相當親切,立刻幫我確認訂房,而且也幫我註記升等豪華客房和加訂早餐。唯一我認為可以改進的地方,就是飯店應該在訂房完成之後,寄個 email 或傳簡訊再跟客人確認。如果有 email 的話,也可以避免掉我接下來在住房時發生的"不幸"事件了。

During the 2012 ITF in Taipei, Regent had a promotion that allows you to get a voucher to stay for one night in their entry-level superior rooms for only $4,399 NTD (about 150 USD), which is about 65-70% off their regular price. You can also have the option of paying $330 NTD for an upgrade to deluxe room, and another $990 for two buffet breakfast. It is a pretty good deal so I bought the voucher immediately.

I received the voucher in November, and followed the instructions to book the hotel via telephone. Reservations went smoothly and the friendly agent confirmed my booking and noted my upgrade and breakfast orders. I do think they should send their guests an confirmation email after bookings. If they did, perhaps the "unfortunate" event that happened to me could be avoided.




我在大約三點的時候,就到了飯店大廳準備 check-in。我不得不說這是我在許多飯店 check-in 的經驗中最差的一次。負責接待的服務人員不但一問三不知,而且不知道為什麼動作非常的慢,光請她先印個帳單出來,大概就花了五分鐘左右的時間吧。

當我一看到帳單,就發現訂房組沒有正確將我的資訊轉達到前台。上面沒有列出加訂的早餐費用,所以又花了好一段時間才完成加訂。而且我看到沒有加訂早餐,也就懷疑到底有沒有幫我升等豪華客房。詢問櫃檯房型是不是豪華客房的結果,卻是服務人員連螢幕都沒看一眼,就非常快速地回答我「是」。當下雖然有一點懷疑,但也就領了鑰匙進房了。

I got to the hotel at around 3PM that day for check-in, and I have to say this was probably the worst check-in experience I've ever had. The agent was clueless of what she's doing. Even printing out a bill took her more than five minutes.

When I saw the bill, I knew that my requests were not properly forwarded from reservations. The $990 NTD breakfast fee was not listed. So that took the agent another century to add it into my bill and confirmed breakfast for me. At this point I began to wonder whether my request to upgrade was confirmed or not. So I asked the agent if my room really was a deluxe room. She replied "yes" without even looking at her screen. I was still skeptical but took my room key and went to my room.

這間「豪華客房」因為在低樓層的關係,所以室內非常的昏暗。擺設雖然說還算是舒適,但也沒有什麼特別的亮點,基本上就和一般的飯店客房無異。但配有乾濕分離和浴缸的浴室相對來說就相當不錯。雖然說現在還用大理石的裝潢有些老氣,但整體還是非常寬敞、明亮跟豪華的。

The "deluxe room was on a lower floor and was very dark. The room was cozy but did not have any "wow" factor at all. It was a very standard hotel room. I do like the bathroom with separate bath/shower though. The marbles did create a more dated feeling, but it was generally spacious, bright, and luxurious.








Then, I saw this lounge chair and knew that the hotel had made a mistake. If you see their description of a deluxe room here, you'd see that deluxe rooms are supposed to have sofas, not a lounge chair with ottoman. So I called the front desk and once again requested a confirmation. 

當我一看到房內這張躺椅,我就知道飯店一定是搞錯了。如果你到飯店官網看他們的介紹,就可以發現豪華客房裡面應該是要擺設沙發,而不是躺椅的。所以我立刻打電話請櫃檯再幫我確認一次房型。

It took them about 15 minutes or so, but who I assume to be the front desk manager or so finally called back and apologized. She said this room was indeed a superior room and they had made a mistake. Due to all the "inconveniences" they had caused, she offered me an upgrade to a Junior Suite if I am still willing to move. A suite? Do you really need to ask? Of course I'm moving!

大概十五分鐘之後,我才接到了應該是前台經理的電話。她立刻向我道歉,也表示這間房間確實只是精緻客房,而不是豪華客房。為了彌補他們造成的「不便」,她說如果我還願意換房的話,會幫我升等到精緻套房。聽到套房當然是立刻蹦蹦跳跳地換房啦!真的有需要問我願不願意嗎?

精緻套房 Junior Suite


The hotel sent an agent to my room in about 5 minutes and escorted me to my new suite, so I didn't have to go to the front desk again for the move. I don't know if it was because the previous room was just too bad, or if the free upgrade got me all psyched, but I loved the suite the moment I walked into it.

飯店大概在五分鐘之後就派人來帶我到新的套房去,所以我也不需要再到大廳櫃台去換鑰匙或辦手續等等。不知道是不是因為前一間房間實在是太糟,或是免費升等太開心的關係,但我第一眼就愛上這間套房了!

客廳篇 Living room



玄關處有蘭花擺設和佔據一整面牆的鏡子。通常我都滿喜歡飯店在房內擺設鮮花的,會讓人特別覺得親切跟舒服。

晶華的書桌配備確實是比較陳舊了一些,不過也算非常齊全,該有的東西都沒有少。書桌背後就是 mini bar,不過我沒有拍什麼照片,畢竟大多都很普通,也沒有什麼特別值得拍照留念的東西。我非常欣賞的一點,是房間四處都有不少插座;有些其他旅館就很小氣,只有一兩個根本不夠充電啊!

The desk and equipments did seem to be more dated, but it had everything I can ask for. Behind the desk was the mini bar. I didn't take many pictures here because, well, they were all quite ordinary so there's nothing especially worth photographing. I did appreciate the fact that they have power outlets all over the suite though, some hotels may be less generous on this one.







接著我花了出乎意料地久的時間窩在沙發上看電視,因為真的太舒服了完全起不來!電視頻道也有很多國際頻道跟國內的頻道,不管是國內外房客應該都可以找到自己想看的節目。另外他們水果盤也給的非常大方,不過都沒有處理好就送來,光是洗水果切水果跟剝皮就快把我累死了!

I then spent a large portion of my night chilling in sofa watching TV. It was too comfortable I honestly couldn't get up! The program selection was pretty good, with many international channels as well as local channels. I also love the generosity of their fruite plates, though washing, peeling, and cutting them was quite an exhausting job.

浴室篇 Bathroom


精緻套房的浴室確實有讓我驚艷了一下。比起之前精緻客房的浴室可以說是寬敞和豪華多了!而且浴室還有連接著一個非常大的更衣間喔!浴室裡面也有另一個較小的電視,讓客人可以一邊泡澡一邊看電視。我對於浴室唯一的怨言就是晶華這次用了自家沐蘭的備品(除了肥皂是歐舒丹的以外),我會覺得至少在套房應該要提供好一點的備品才對。

The bathroom definitely surprised me. It was much more spacious and luxurious than the previous one in the superior room, and also had a connecting walk-in closet. There was also a separate but smaller TV in the bathroom so guests can watch TV when they are taking a bath. The only disappointment was the amenities. Rengent chose to use their own brands even in suites (except a L'Occitane soap). They could've (and should've) chosen something better.

臥室篇 Bedroom


臥室可以算是非常令人滿意的一間臥室。我超級喜歡他們的床喔!算是比較軟的床,不過還是非常舒服,可以讓人一夜好眠。我也很喜歡他們把電視設計成可以旋轉到面向臥室這邊。雖然說直接擺兩台電視也許還容易一些,但有一台可以旋轉的電視感覺就酷多了不是嗎?

The bedroom was very very nice. LOVED their bed, it was on the soft side and was very comfortable. I slept like a baby in it. I also love the fact that the TV can be rotated to face the bedroom. They could've had two televisions, but having one rotating TV just made the room so much cooler. The bedroom also had a nice view of the streets.




早餐篇 Breakfast



之所以想要入住晶華酒店,有很大的一部分原因也是為了來吃吃看佰麗廳的早餐。在之前就一直聽別人對於佰麗廳的食物讚不絕口,這次一吃才發現句句屬實啊!所有的東西都非常美味,而且也是色香味俱全。我特別喜歡他們的甜點區,最後也是吃到非常非常撐才離開。
不過我對於這次早餐有一個非常嚴重的不滿,那就是飯店對於座位的安排實在是太雜亂無章了。因為入場的時候並沒有登記哪一位客人坐在哪一桌,而是由服務生隨便帶位,所以他們根本搞不清楚到底有哪幾桌是空桌,或是只是客人去拿菜而已。一頓早餐下來我被迫換了三次座位,因為每次拿菜回來都會發現桌子被新的客人給佔走了。對於整個享用早餐的心情真的影響很大啊...我不知道會造成這種混亂狀況的原因是什麼,也許只是他們當天人手不足,但這個問題真的應該儘快改善才行。

Reviewing the famous breakfast Regent had in its restaurant, Brasserie, was one of my main reasons for staying here. I've heard nothing but great words about their food before, and every word turned out to be true. Everything was so delicious and they all looked wonderful. I especially loved their dessert section and ended up eating more than I should...

However, I do have a rather serious complaint for their seating arrangements during breakfast. They did not register which table you are seated. So everything was extremely chaotic while I was there. The staffs had no idea whether one table was vacant or not. I ended up having to move three times because someone else had taken my table when I was out getting food. It was not a pleasant experience at all. I do not know if this is because they were under-staffed that day or what; but some improvements need to be made, fast.



























我還是覺得晶華酒店算是一間不錯的飯店。雖然我不會太想住他們的一般客房,但如果還可以入住套房的話,我絕對還是會開開心心再來住一次的!房間雖然有點陳舊,但整體而言還是非常豪華跟舒適。我自己認為晶華很適合開完一整天會的商務客住宿休息用。不過飯店在服務和行政流程上,就還有改進的空間了。

I think Regent Taipei is still a pretty decent hotel. I wouldn't come back for their entry-level rooms, but I'd gladly stay in their suites again. The rooms are a little dated but still very comfortable and luxurious. I think the hotel is ideal for business travelers who are looking for some relaxation after a long day of meetings. But there's still room for improvements when it comes to service and administration of the hotel.
